Indy Popovich is a graphic designer and prop maker from the Big Bear Valley in Southern California. His work typically explores late 19th and early 20th century design, with a particular fascination with old lithographic typography, though he is not limited to this particular wheelhouse. His personal work also focuses on recreating antique documents, packaging, and novelties for modern use, often for puzzle games and entertainment, and as a means of preserving aging and brittle ephemera. He is extremely interested in history, expressed not only through his work, but also through his manner of dress. As a result of this interest, he at one point in time considered earning a degree in either history or archaeology before accepting his fate in the arts. Indy Popovich first began his graphic design education in high school and through internet exploration. He has an Associate’s in Fine Arts and Humanities from San Bernardino Valley College and is in the process of finally earning his BFA in Graphic and Interactive Design at Cal State Fullerton.
